Hey guys! So I have a little new project, I wanted to convert a low polygon car in MM2 style, and I got a really cool Honda Civic model from this website: https://3dmodel.domawe.com/entry/Low-pol ... del-Free-5

This is another joint convertion with Aaro4130. No screenshots for now, but it will look similar to the picture on that website, and will include different colours, MM2 style lights (but with the ground effects in the headlights and tail lights at night) it's own shadow, 16:9 dashboard and good sounds. Although Aaro4130 told me something about Honda would sue people if we convert it as a Honda, so we decided to make this car generic (like what happens with GTA cars, for example) so it will not have any Honda Civic logos, and some details will not look like the real life car.

I still have to talk to Franch88 because the website gives a no commercial uses only (written in Korean, thanks Google Translator :P ) and I'm not sure if it allows us to do these changes; and also I have to talk to him if the car has a good quality if we can release it here.

I also I'm going to do a sound patch for Peugeot 908, because I think it could sound better and in that case would be much more fun to drive. When I finish it (probably today) I'll upload on my website and give the link here, but I'll try then to upload on MM2X too (like in a link on car's details)

Looks an interesting and nice low polygons model. Have a good work. Of course it'll be published here, the good quality level thing is more related to the work done by who makes a car for MM2.

Ok about that sounds update.

Nah, that's not going to happen... The thing was much more banal than how it appeared, the suing was done by an agency specialized in this engaged by Honda Motors Company, and I bet that if we'll put back the Acura and Honda cars downloading sections, we won't get any sort of suing again (the time passed away is enough to have stopped that). I'll do it for the next car release of these brands.

New project comming!

This time I'm going to edit and convert a DeLorean. BUT, not the Forza one. Instead, I got a free low poly great model of a DeLorean in turbosquid.com I'm editing and converting to MM2.

Image

Inside the model have untextured 3D interiors. I still just converted the file to .z3d and opened it, so still no work on it.

Finished model expected features:
- Low poly 3D model (under 2000 polys)
- Good textures (edited original ones and new ones)
- All light effects (just like in Ford GT, multiple headlight places, ground light effects at night, flashing lights at reverse gear)
- At least 3 different colours (original, alternate sides version, gold Delorean custom)
- Sounds from actual Delorean
- Realistic tuning
- Good 16:9 dashboard (with the same quality of the Ford GT one, from Forza Delorean interior screenshot).

Notes: Model from here: https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/fre ... del/214487

MMA already have a old collection of low poly Deloreans (https://mmarchive.com/search.php?terms=delorean&game=0), so why would I do another one? Well, I'm going to make the best quality possible on this car, so it will be way better than those.

Why editing and releasing a low poly model when there are high poly Delorean models avaliable? This community is full of high poly 3D models. They don't fit really well in the game environment. This model will be low poly, but with way higher quality than default cars, but still fitting in MM2. I guess the greatest car mods are the ones meant to be good to play, not those meant to look good in photoshoped screenshots.

Will I later do a BTTF model from this later? Nope :D

More updates soon ;)

It's a well justified choice, Andy, not bad. Good work with it. :)

I've been using the Forza Delorean to help some things on this car. Yesterday, since the bottom texture of the car sucked, I took a screenshot of the bottom of the Forza one, edited, and used has a texture for this one.

Image

I'm also going to remodel some parts of this car, mainly the windows, because they are not separated in the polygons from the rest of the body and it makes them suck.

Then I'm going to remake the interiors to make them fit better using the textures and the seats from the Forza one (notice Forza cars from Riva's website come wih the low quality interiors, so the textures and the seats can fit nicely).
