Retro-sports - Released

Postby whoami » Sat Nov 03, 2012 2:15 pm

Hi! I was trying to convert a car to MM2 (yes, *again*), and everything was going fine till I got this:
Image
What to do? I re-centered the axis, calculated normals (hmm.. the car looks good, better now) but nothing happened.

Nice to see you doing MM2 related stuff again! :)

I think that problem occurred to me once. Maybe there's an unknown object in the pkg file OR make sure of the basename of the car in the .info file is correct.

I'll check the PKG, but everything else is okay.
EDIT: I actually saved the PKG as wi_metro.pkg instead of wi_retro!

This time, the car is very nearly finished, except for the shadow and the dash (may not be present in the final release).

Yeah, after I get Photoshop to get rid of the white background in shadows. :)
PS: If you really want to see, I'll upload them today.

I think I've seen those wheels before... Is that car from Zmodeler's sample model?

Shading and looks can be made better if you assign some 'texture' (I mean photo of a real car or something similar to that instead of a few mono-coloured pixels).

Erm... is the TGA file format compatible with transparency? Everytime I make the thing transparent in Photoshop or GIMP, and save as TGA, it appears to have lost transparency.
Yes, the car is a ZModeler sample (Retro Sports) and so are the wheels (from a car called Probe).
And Aaro, no offence, but what do you mean by that?

Of-course TGA stores transparency, just save it as 32 bit and you'll get transparent texture. Also the material which uses transparency must be set to 'glowing' type in ZM in order to see transparent texture.

I mean to whoever said "Use a real pic". It is not a real car so that is impossible, Nice conversion so far :)

Well I know that there's no real model like that. My intention was to clarify that textures having some shading effect look better than flat colours.
