It's a very good model, I love its details. :D Nice tip use the NEAR camera as dashboard from the model. :)

Sure Riva has a powerful computer. I can't play SpeedWay track with an high polygons car like the Riva's 2006 Audi TT; the result is that the game goes at about 10 FPS. :)

Use XP. :D
I'm using Windows XP at my old PC. My new PC with Windows Vista goes very good with the new games. I've played MM2 on it before doing a reinstall to my old PC; it runs very well, but it has troubles. See my topic about this. ;)
Any way with 512 MB of RAM you can't play these things properly.

Before that I did its last reinstall they were only 256 MB! I took the 512 MB RAM DIMM from my brother old PC.
However I can't do so much to improve my old PC, it has more that 5 years of life!

I can't, because there's no new 2 x 1 GB DDR 333MHz DIMM RAM module in selling. :|
However I use my old PC only for data archiving and working. My new PC has 2 GB of DDR2 RAM and it's made for games.

I went from 512MB of ram to 1.2GB. It was a night and day difference. I'm really thinking of getting another gig giving my comp 2GB.

I can play speedway with a high poly car (Honda S2000 2F2F) and have some slow game play; have never checked my fps. I just never do that.

The Honda S2000 2F2F has a medium polygons car model, and with cars with about 20.000 polygons I have no big problems; the game goes at about 20 FPS.

Hmmm, well I haven't really tried anything else except maybe the Nissan Skyline of HQTM Team. The gameplay seemed basically the same as with the Honda. Usually I find no difference with cars, although I'm not picking at fps.

I really never understood the big deal about fps. As long as a game runs without lag or with just a little bit who cares what the fps is?

Also I don't care the MM2 FPS, but the minimum acceptable is 24 FPS. I use Fraps to see the game FPS.
Especially with the modern games a good FPS number, like about 35 FPS, is important to give a fluid gameplay without heavy increments.

With the 2005 Ferrari f340 I get about 10 average, maybe 12. I see what you are saying. Anything below 24 is too slow. For tracks like this I will have to go with cars no higher poly than HQTM Team's Nissan Skyline.
