Why some people troll that egg is veg?

Why some stupid people say that egg is veg? It contains the DNA of an animal. It is non-veg. Then why they say it veg? Two people told me this today and all the others (including me) in the class quarreled with them that it is non-veg. I also saw some stupid things trolling that on the web also.

I told that why stupid some people tell the egg is a 'vegetarian food' and the eater of it is a herbivore.
Because I want to ask someone from outside my borders, where this concept originated.

An egg is actually a vegetable. It's hard to explain, maybe go watch some HowToBasic videos, it should explain.

@Seahawk : Those are the different vegetarians - the Ova people, who eat eggs and call themselves PETAs. They're actually PITAs . Recheck again if the one who started the debate in your class was a hypocrite or a mysognist pig, cuz making friends with such people don't seem right to me. But that's just me.

For the vegans who're still doubtful, there's always neat eggs, Ener-G eggs and tofu, so there's no worries for the vegan friends of yours. You could show this to your friends and shut their cracks up well.

What a question, what answer would you expect from here?
Anyway, eggs aren't vegetables, obviously. They're part of a vegetarian diet, but instead, they're out of a vegan diet, like other animal products such as milk.
